Sheikh Maktoum (Ruler) put Dubai on the map; Dubai put the WORLD on the map! Sounds bizarre, right? Well, not if you’re in this part of the world. This city is no ordinary city. Some call it a mammoth construction site, some call it the crane capital of the world, I call it OUT OF THIS WORLD.Dubai the city of a rising skyline, a city of dancing cranes and beyond belief buildings all merged into a display of the unstoppable desire of man to live amongst the clouds.
Nothing on earth shows the thirst for building a modern aged metropolis than Dubai. Some may disagree but none of Beijing, Hong Kong or Shanghai can match the desire in Dubai to transform the way the world understands city development, living space, architectural design, and building construction. Not a single day goes by without someone, somewhere in this desert thinking “What if we built it like this?”. Dubai isn’t at the cutting edge of 21st Century construction; NO it has far surpassed it and is now defining a new era of boundary shattering design with projects such as the Burj Dubai, Infinity Tower, Burj al Alam and many others.
Not content with building the biggest constructions, the tallest skyscrapers or just creating the largest man made islands in the world, Dubai went one better. It brought snow to this sun-baked desert. Ski Dubai boasts a 400-metre indoor ski slope, which holds more than 6,000 tonnes of snow. Now that is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
